Moments

there are moments when you feel that you are having the most enjoyable time. May it stays only for a second, a minute, or just a day. then before you realise, it slowly, gentally slips away. leaving you wonder whether it was really there. whether it was just your imagination or whether it was just a dream after all.

there are moments when you feel like grasping those times in your hands and hold on to them tight. But you know there are more important things to do, better stuff to focus on. And when it's time, it's time. So you tell yourself that this is it, the end, fullstop, finish, nothing more, and BYE BYE.

sometimes after moments like this, you find it hard to go back to your routines. the important ones that you follow. It is this that make you fear having such moments. But it is also the break from such routines that make you long for them even more.

those moments, like suddenly hearing bubbly being played on a Friday afternoon in the canteen, while you were daydreaming under the sun; like playing an elaborate version of polar bear in the pavilion at paula ubin campsite; like sitting on a boat looking at how it glides through the waves among mangroves and enjoying the tranquility; like staring at the bonfire feeling its warmth; like hearing your team mates laugh heartily and laugh along with them; like singing your hearts out with friends when you feel down; like staring at someone in the eyes and feeling your heart skip for a second; like the thrill of winning a friend on the piste...... those moments, are the ones that will make you feel like crying, smiling, and thanking that you had the chance, the time, the people to let it happen.

Short enough to make you treasure it. Long enough to make you appreciate.

And after those moments, when you look back with nostalgia, you know that it is also the time to move on.
