fairy tales getting rediculously hilarious??

me and litying went to watch Peau d'Ane today. its the movie version of charles perault's donkey skin. since we are doing BBE as option, and its the french film fest now, we thought it would be rather interesting to check it out. I mean the most common films adapted from fairy tales are usually those done by disney, so at least i thought this time we could watch something different.

it turned out that it was indeed somthing different, like totally different from what i expected. very amusing, as in they twisted the story and sort of changed it into something which is a bit hilarious, and added stuff here and there which made the whole thing a bit weird. It was filmed in 1970s i think, so the film looks kind of old too. ya, and then throughout the film there was this funny song with a funny tune and the characters just have to keep singing it. they even added 3 scenes with a parrot repeating the line "l'amour l'amour " in a funny way. wasn't that funny after a while.. i think ppl were getting sick of it.

i was really amused and my eyebrows went up quite a bit at certain scenes. hahax. they turned the female protagonist into one who doesn't see any problem in marrying his father, who wants to marry her after her mother died. she just naively thinks that her love for his father justifies their marriage... which is kind of stupid compared to the character in the original tale. and then they have this sexy, vain fairy godmother who tries to convince the daughter to run away, and then you know what, at the end of the film the fairy god mother married the king!!! like what???!!! and whispered to the daughter at her wedding "i married your dad at least pretend to be happy". that totally justifies why she advised and helped her to escape the marriage with her dad in the first place. gosh. then for each different kingdom, they have different colour schemes, in one kingdom you have all the servants with blue faces, horse with blue coloured hair, and then in another you have all red ones. so when the red houses with the red prince and servants were running across a stretch of green forest all i could think of was chirstmas. The best part is at the end, the fairy god mother and the king arrived in a HELICOPTER to attend the daughter's wedding with the prince. wow, such a magical appearance.

blah. actually i was hoping that it was fully animated, at least it wouldn't be that ridiculous in that way. and seriously, the clothes look so puffed up and everything that it's kind of fake. but then again, it was a rather old film. but somhow i just felt it was not worth the money ><>

then we went to made with love in plaza sing! bought a magazine for digital scrapbooking. i really want to learn to do scrapbook. its quite meaningful i think (: but since it's so expensive and i can't possibly buy materials all the time, i think digital scrapbooking would be fun too. shall try to look for PS CS3 in china and see whether i can grab any useful materials. and i need to get more photographs!!! all the photos and scrapbook pages there look so cool. nice photos plus nice layout makes everything look unique and special. don't know where to start though =//

i still have lots of things i want to do and learn but i think there won't be enough time. isn't it sad to know that after like 80 or even 90 yrs on earth you will still have millions of things you don't know and did not experience??? hmm. maybe my goal in life should be experience more while i can, like make life has some value-add? haha that's what SPRING is encouraging now! even though my life is not a SME. okay that was random
