Given the title of the post, I should be blogging like at least tomorrow evening, if not Saturday. But tomorrow is Book Day, so should have quite a number of funny stuff going on, especially after MYA paper checking. This week has quite a number of things happening though it feels like holiday. Guess it's considered quite slack for the sec4s (at least for our class). I mean if you get to watch like "Friends" with your crazy english teacher and "Sound of Colours" when your HCL teacher was nowhere to be seen, plus a few physics lesson involving students merely clipping wire to batteries and plucking them out again, then you wouldn't really have the mood to mug or study either.
Interesting event #1
I found out during bio that I'm a PTC non-taster. I think we did that in sec2, but didn't go into details. Anyway the gist of it is that I can't taste the bitter taste that you are supposed to taste when given a filter paper with the chemical PTC. So I have homogeneous receissive alleles! Hahax. At least I get the chance to be in the minority group for once. xP So we are supposed to be the bunch of people who are more likely to smoke (NOO this is not gonna happen to me nor my husband nor my child (x, so i should find a guy who has like dominant PCT tasting gene?? ), and have a better liking for boccoli (yeah i do like it).
Ms Lee say tasting bitter stuff is an ability to protect you from getting poisoned. So we should beware -.- But insensitivity to bitterness can be good too!!! At least I wouldn't be hooked on to sweet milky chocolates. I like chocolat noir though (: Black chocolate is love! Which then leads me to conclude that my parents are probably heterogeneous PTC taster cuz they like milk chocolates. anyway that's just a hypothesis. LOL. But if that's the case should i consider myself to be lucky that I got recessive genes??
whatever. but that's the fun of bio.
Major Event #1
what else can be counted as MAJOR besides EOI results? Anyway it's really better than expected and I'm glad that I didn't waste my time on SS (: Sort of calculated my Mid-Year GPA. Not bad. Worst subject: CHEMISTRY! ARH~! second worst: eng lit. Standard even higher this year. And this time our eng teacher marked our lit paper and our lit teacher marked our eng paper and so the marks were kind of unexpected. In a bad way. still, better than the first source-based on Macbeth. Lit lit lit. I seriously need to improve my language. and Chemistry? Can't depend on our dearest teacher. Chemistry PT is going to squeeze all my brain juice dry this holiday. Welcome to the wonderful world of electrochemistry! HAVE FUN.
Right brain to left brain: hey maybe we are better at physics and bio, wanna learn that in JC?
Left to right: Be more realistic dude!
-.-
Major Event #2
this is like one major thing in your sec4 year. yeah options. so for once my right brain shall rule!
Left brain to right: like duh, if we can only have 2 advanced subject and 1 enriched, we should definitely choose sience right?
Right: Heck to sciences. Since I m going to spend the next 2 years (or even worse my whole life) putting up with your logical nonsense (left: hey that's illogical. Right: that's logical to me! ), I shall have some fun with humanities and language arts.
I don't care. Whatever I'm gonna to do in JC shall have no relation to my options. Thus I'm gonna take Beasts, beauty and enchantment for language arts as advanced, conflict between Arab and Isarel for Humanities as advanced, and climate change as enriched for science. Provided i can won all the bids. And I'm gonna make sure i get it >< BLESS ME.
actually I wanted to take Diplomacy in Action, but I dislike the teacher. Think most of the people are taking starting a business thing. Dad and I decided that it's not really practical or useful in the near future. Photonic, pharmaceutical chem, genomics... should be useful and fun i guess. But the noble me feel like giving my right mind the freedom of choice (:
Don't worry left brain. You well definitely have a great time for the next.. say... 20 yrs?
