yesterday me and yajie brought 2 boxes of ice to school. we decided to cool rgs a bit so at least we have a nice environment to study in in term 3. Yajie's one was melting along the way, with her two bottles of salt solutions inside. Ya the ice is for chemistry pt actually. smart me decided we should try varying the temprature to increase cell voltage. But in the end we ended up looking like two 'desperate housewives' waiting for eggs to hatch, submerging the whole thing in water bath and using our hands to warm the solution and all that.
so the next 3 hours were spent on varying concentration and all the possible things we can think of just to increase the voltage of the cell. Imagine spending the whole day in a chem lab okay. (and not like the lab is very clean and condusive also) so in the end i was too lazy to go and find the lab tech again and again, and for the last 2 experiments i went to search for electrodes and sand paper myself. the whole day we were like in the the lab taking pictures, sanding blackish substance off the elctrodes and dipping electrodes into solution to take readings. It was like waiting for 4D results to come out, we are taking readings aloud and going "YES" whenever the trend is a bit stable. this is just pathetic. but at least we managed to get something in the end, if not i would have dyed my fingers with green copper ions for nothing -.-
